We collect only what we need to serve you. We keep it only as long as we must. We do not sell it. We do not trade it. We do not treat it as anything other than a responsibility.

This Privacy Policy describes how yūake — a partnership firm operating under the name and style of Yuake Lifestyle — collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information you provide when you interact with our website at www.yuakelifestyle.com or contact us directly. It is written in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Please read it in full before submitting a commission inquiry.

01

Who We Are

yūake is a curatorial house operating under the name and style of Yuake Lifestyle, a partnership firm, with its principal place of business in Gurugram, Haryana, India.

We commission authentic Benjarong porcelain — and, in due course, other artisanal traditions — on behalf of clients who wish to mark significant occasions with objects made to outlast them. All commercial transactions are conducted between the partnership and its clients directly; no payments are collected through this website.

For the purposes of this Policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to the yūake partnership. "You" refers to any individual who visits our website, submits a commission inquiry, or contacts us by any means.

02

What Data We Collect

We collect personal information only in two circumstances: when you actively provide it to us through our commission inquiry form or direct communication, and when you visit our website (certain data is collected automatically by the platforms we use).

Category Data Collected How It Reaches Us
Contact Information Full name, email address, phone number Commission inquiry form; direct email or WhatsApp contact
Commission Details Occasion, intended recipient, timeline, design preferences, and any personal context you choose to share Commission inquiry form; subsequent correspondence
Technical Data IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on site, approximate geographic location Automatically collected by Squarespace and Google Analytics when you visit the site
Communication Records Content of emails, WhatsApp messages, and any other correspondence between you and yūake Retained in our email inbox and, where relevant, our client records

We do not collect sensitive personal data as defined under the SPDI Rules 2011 — this means we do not collect passwords, financial account information, biometric data, health records, or any information relating to sexual orientation. We do not collect payment information through this website. All commercial transactions are handled offline.

03

Why We Collect It

We collect and use your personal data only for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your commission inquiry. When you reach out to begin a commission, we use your contact information and the details you share to understand your requirements, respond thoughtfully, and facilitate the commission process.
  • To manage the commission relationship. Once a commission is underway, we retain relevant correspondence and details to serve you accurately throughout the making process and delivery.
  • To maintain a client record. We keep a record of completed commissions for operational, legal, and relationship continuity purposes.
  • To understand how our website is used. Aggregate, anonymised analytics data helps us improve the website's content and user experience. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
  • To comply with legal obligations. We may process or retain data where required by applicable Indian law, including for tax or record-keeping obligations.

We will not use your personal data for any purpose beyond those listed above without obtaining your explicit consent first.

04

How We Store It

Information submitted through our website's commission inquiry form is forwarded to our designated email address and stored within our email system. Client records derived from active and completed commissions are maintained in a private, access-controlled database used solely by the yūake partnership.

We take the following reasonable security measures to protect personal data in our possession:

  • Access to client records is restricted to the partners and key personnel of yūake.
  • Our email accounts are protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
  • We do not store personal data on public-facing systems or unsecured cloud services.

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your information, no digital transmission or storage system is entirely without risk. In the event of a data security incident, we will notify you and, where required, the relevant Indian authorities (CERT-In) as expeditiously as reasonably possible.

05

Third Parties

yūake does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their own commercial purposes. Ever.

The following third-party service providers process data on our behalf, as a technical necessity of operating this website and our communications:

Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses cookies — small text files placed on your device by your browser — to function correctly and to understand how the site is used. We use two categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are set by Squarespace to enable core website functionality — security, session management, and form submission. They cannot be disabled without breaking the site. No personal data from these cookies leaves Squarespace's infrastructure.
  • Analytics cookies. These are set by Google Analytics to collect anonymised data on how visitors use the website — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and what device is used. Google anonymises IP addresses before storage. This data is used only to improve the site and is never used to identify individuals.

You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You may also configure your browser to refuse or delete cookies; please note that doing so may affect the functionality of the website.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting tools of any kind on this website.

07

Your Rights

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data held by yūake:

  • Right to access. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time.
  • Right to correction. You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Right to withdrawal of consent. Where we process your data on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Right to erasure. You may request that we delete your personal information where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain it.
  • Right to grievance redressal. You have the right to raise a complaint about our data practices. All grievances will be acknowledged and resolved in accordance with the timelines set out below.

To exercise any of the above rights, write to the Grievance Officer at the contact details provided in Section 11. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days of receipt.

08

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law.

  • Inquiry data (where no commission follows). If your inquiry does not result in a commission, we will retain your contact information and inquiry details for a period of 12 months, after which it will be deleted unless you have given consent to remain in contact.
  • Active commission data. Data relating to an ongoing commission is retained for the duration of the commission and for a period of 3 years thereafter, to support any warranty, provenance, or post-delivery queries.
  • Completed commission records. A summary record of completed commissions — limited to the commission brief, artisan details, and provenance information — may be retained indefinitely for operational and historical record purposes.
  • Website analytics data. Anonymised analytics data is retained within Google Analytics for 26 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

You may at any time request early deletion of your personal data by contacting the Grievance Officer. Where deletion is not possible due to a legal obligation, we will inform you of the reason and the expected retention period.

09

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under the age of 18. yūake's commission services are intended for adults of legal contracting age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a minor without appropriate parental or guardian consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact the Grievance Officer immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — as our practices evolve, as we add new services, or as applicable law changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to active clients directly by email.

Continued use of our website following any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
